VB vs Soccer....

The look on my face when our coach of our volleyball team told us that this year you can play the ball off of any part of your body even kick it....uh.... "Are you kidding??"

Well, he wasn't, and tonight I wish I had a camera to show you the play Amy, on our team made! She is a soccer coach/ mom, and as the ball was flying toward her, I think she mistook it for a soccer and played it right off her head, from the second row, and right over the net. This of course stunned the other team, leading us to gain yet another point.

My highlight of the game was tipping as it was going out of bounds and hitting a guy who was bent over giving us the butt view while tying his shoe! I slowed down trying to get the ball so there would be no more major catastrophe!

We won 2 of 3 tonight, the first game seems to be our warm up game (same results as last week!) Our record is now 4-5!

I love volleyball!!!!

Aaaah!

Even though the scale this morning showed an error after telling me I had lost 5 lbs, I was still happy with losing 1 1/2 lbs when it finally got it's act together! :) I have lost total since christmas 7 1/2 lbs!!!! Total all together from my heaviest is 24 lbs!

Please keep praying for me, this is not easy by any means! I need it for keeping my butt motivated to exercise... good thing I have volleyball tonight!

Monica and Allen, Keep up the awesome work! You are inspiring me to keep going too!!

Michelle, Roxane, and Karen, how are you guys doing?????

Will you do me a favor?

Those are the words I heard after church this morning on the way to sunday school. My friend Lisa comes up to ask favor, will I help out and sing at the nursing home with her today!
I may sing in choir, but I wasn't prepared for this, and it was out of my comfort zone, but I am so glad that I did it!
We went to two different nursing homes, and our piano player was Debbie Wolfe who is one of the secretaries at Zahnow our elementary school. (Her daughter is on our VB team.. you know.. just FYI :)
So we get there, and bless Debbie because we dont' have any idea what we are doing! We didn't bring the program, and another lady came and brought them! We passed out hymnal books, but to Lisa and my surprise... um... no notes! Good thing we knew the songs, well, mostly. There was one, Crown him with many crowns. I wasn't THAT family with, and one particular line that neither Lisa and I knew, and the piano apparently didnt' either being out or tune and all! :) Then it came time to pray and Lisa hands looks at me and I look to the other woman who was there, and she wasn't looking.... bustn out of the box today! I have never prayed in public like that! New experiences all week this week!
Then we went out to Monroe County Nursing home too. I really enjoyed it.
I have been asked several times about joining the group singing out there, and then I thought I might do it, and actually put in on my list of goals for this year. Funny thing thought I was thinking about it the other day as I rewrote my list into a book (thought I had better before I lose it!) and thought, I am not sure that I wanted to and wasn't going to put in on my list! I finally did at the vary end. Little did I know that I would get that chance to sing there so soon! God has a sense of humor and is amazing how things work out according to his plan!

VB season again!

WE WON!! Our church volleyball group had our second game set of the season and we finally won two of our three games. If we were awake the first game, we probably would have won that one too!

So our record is 2 - 4 (hehe.... we didn't do so great, and one run in but no broken nose! Whew! I ran into another guy on our team that is a bigger guy and solid, so it felt like a wall! Youch! I didn't end up with a broken nose or a black eye, but a sore chin surfaced a few days later!

Hopefully our season goes well!

screeeech!

I am so excited!! This past monday was my first violin lesson. I have wanted to play for while, and finally found out where to get lessons, and rented a violin. I learned quite a bit, but I can't wait to learn more! Having piano really helps, and I really miss playing that too!
I had to ask my neighbors about the noise though because it is loud, although not a screechy (yes that is a word! :) as I thought it wasn't going to be.
All I am playing right now are the open notes. I will have to hook up some kind of recording so you can see how it sounds... get the ear plugs out!

My next lesson is this week, and I get to learn more notes! yahoo, then I might get closer to playing mary had a little lamb!

ug...

well weigh it day was disappointing after working out doing tae bo and yoga this week! I stayed the same, but I can tell in my clothes that things are changing, but we all know how that is. I like to see results and I don't like being hungry like I am now, and used almost all my points, but played volleyball too!!!
Well, I am not giving up, but I am am going to make trip to the fridge, and it's late!
This is one thing that I need to work on for sure!

Michelle, how was your weigh in?

Monica! You are awesome! I am so proud of you for getting on that machine and working out!

I am excited though about one thing though! I started playing volleyball with my church group! Wahoo, but it is only 3 points to play for 45 minutes of v-ball.... um... they haven't played on my team! It should definitely be worth more points!

It's on!!

Michelle it is ON! This first weigh in was today!

Michelle and I have challenged each other to lose to our goal weight in 20 weeks. If on person doesn't meet the goal they will buy a new piece of clothing for the other person! (right?) I thought that is what we said! If we both lose... of course we won't but if we do, then we will be cleaning out our dear friend and impartial third party Monica and Allen's vehicles. If we both win we will treat ourselves to a spa day! Can't wait! Can't wait for the new me either! I guess 20 weeks would put us at May 29th to reach our goal weight that we set which about the same to lose for both of us!

I am very happy to say that I have lost the 4 pounds that I added over Chrismas break, and am ready to lose more!
If you all have any inspirational tips and recipes, I am always open to new ones!
