I am so excited!! This past monday was my first violin lesson. I have wanted to play for while, and finally found out where to get lessons, and rented a violin. I learned quite a bit, but I can't wait to learn more! Having piano really helps, and I really miss playing that too!
I had to ask my neighbors about the noise though because it is loud, although not a screechy (yes that is a word! :) as I thought it wasn't going to be.
All I am playing right now are the open notes. I will have to hook up some kind of recording so you can see how it sounds... get the ear plugs out!
My next lesson is this week, and I get to learn more notes! yahoo, then I might get closer to playing mary had a little lamb!

I took 7 years of piano lessons and I can't play mary had a little lamb I am so jelous that you may be able to do that in a few weeks. Good luck. I am excited for you. I own a violin and have always wanted to play but....
